Neto Ready Bring Valencia Back Up
The Brazilian goalkeeper, Norberto Neto promised to give all his ability to his new club Valencia and help the La Liga club to return victorious.
The Mestalla bat team struggled to rise after sitting 12th in the last two seasons and strengthening their back line by bringing Neto from Juventus at an undisclosed fee.
Neto signed his contract over four seasons with Los Che, with a buyout clause of 80 million euros.
“I’m trying to spread a positive wave into this team,” the 27-year-old goalkeeper told the media.
“I watched a lot of Valencia matches last season and I was surprised by the position of the team inside the standings board.
“I do not understand, because Valencia has many players who have good quality. I know many things will develop. I just wish I could do my job well and take Valencia to where they belong. ”
Neto said he could not refuse an offer to join Valencia, a six-time La Liga champion and twice a Champions League finalist.
“From the moment that I knew there was a possibility to get here, I did everything I could to bring in this club,” he said.
“This is a very important step in my career.
“I am really motivated by the opportunities that have been given to me this.”
Neto is a backup for Gigi Buffon at Juventus and has played only 11 Serie A games since joining the Turin giants from Fiorentina in 2015.
He left Italy after living for seven and a half years after coming from Atletico Paranaense.
“I need time to adapt to La Liga,” he admitted.
“But I have time for a month to get ready and I do not think it will not be too helpful for me to get used to the league.
“The important thing is that I spread my confidence to my teammates.”
Neto also admitted he was not sabbath to compete with compatriot Diego Alves to get a core position in Valencia if he still survives in the Mestalla this summer.
Valencia was given the hope of selling Alves, who posted six clean sheets in 33 games for Los Che last season and holds a penalty save record 24 times.
Having a contract until 2019, the 32-year-old goalkeeper recently admitted he would accept if it could be transferred to Flamengo.
