Walcott urges teammates to win Emirates Cup

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has asked his teammates this summer to win the Emirates Cup trophy held from the weekend.

The insistence, because if the Gunners can win it then has a very good capital to stare at the Premier League competition which will roll in August.

In the tournament two years ago they managed to come out as winners after be able to beat Wolfsburg and proved in the 2015-2016 season the North London club finished second in the domestic league final standings.

So this summer Walcott who had grazed with Southampton want his team can beat Benfica, Sevilla and RB Leipzing which is an Emirates Cup contestant in 2017.

“It’s time to be in the right frame of mind, playing with strong teams on a good pitch and doing the right thing, which will take you to the team,” Theo Walcott told the club’s official website.

“You want to win too and we also have a good record on that.

“We have lost the opening game in the last few seasons, I think, so we need to make sure that there is a pattern change this year.

“We played against a strong team in all the games we played in pre season, so there’s no reason to start off slowly.

“The team has ups and downs but we need to get started well first. Starting well is a top priority and then we have to push it from there.

“The coach has been telling the truth since the first day here. Make sure there is a quick start. That’s why it’s important for us to play against big teams in pre-season, get ready and prepare mentally.

“We need to get into a good habit, that’s the main thing. It’s all about a positive start and the result will make it happen. ”

While in the opening match Arsenal will face Benfica on this weekend.
